J. Mark Spencer is vice president, human resources for Hunt Refining Company located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Prior to joining Hunt Refining in 2007, Spencer was vice president, human resources for Columbian Chemicals Company, a global manufacturer of carbon black products. Spencer joined Columbian Chemicals in 1990 and held a variety of positions assuming the vice president, human resources role in 1998.

Prior to Columbian Chemicals, Spencer spent eight years at John H. Harland Company where he was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of human resources, safety, and environmental affairs.

Spencer holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from Ohio University and an Associate in Risk Management Certification from the Insurance Institute of America.
